"Low-Tuh-Juh"

Have you seen this logo before?

Until about 3 weeks ago, it was a coveted sticker we dreamed about having on our vehicle's window.

It represents hard work, determination, sacrifice and skill.

So what is it exactly?!

LOTOJA is a timed bike race (you can race or just ride). Riders begin in Logan, Utah and finish 206 miles later in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Yes, I just said 206 miles!! There is an elevation gain of 9,338 ft. Each rider has to bring their own support crew (that's me!) and be prepared to finish before dark or they are kicked off the course.

Despite a back injury this summer, McKay was still able to ride and have fun! He finished in 11:27:40 and was 27th in his category (which is a Cat 5 racer). Pretty amazing! It was fun for me to be there along the way at the "Feed Zones" and cheer him on! (Stressful, because I didn't want to miss him, but fun!)

The finish line! Plenty of daylight to spare...

My brother, Ricky, rode as well but he was in a different category - the Cat 4s. He was amazing too! He maybe wasn't smiling as much as McKay was during the race, but he had plenty of smiles on the podium with a 2nd place finish!

McKay already has big plans for next year...I might too :) In the meantime, we'll just enjoy the hard earned sticker on the back window of our car. Good job boys!
